ENGLISH PREPARATORY PROGRAMME COURSE CONTENTS
- PIS-101 (INTEGRATED SKILLS )
This course is designed to provide general knowledge of the basics of the English language in an integrated way. It is aimed to develop students’ vocabulary and grammar skills in addition to reading, listening, writing and speaking skills that students can use in their academic and professional studies. This course also aims to help students become familiar with various social and academic contexts and become familiar with everyday English usage.
- PRW-101 (READING & WRITING)
This course is designed to improve students' reading comprehension and writing skills by using different reading strategies. It is aimed to develop students’ skills and ability to understand reading texts at different levels by developing their vocabulary, , make inferences and predictions, become familiar with different reading texts, write paragraphs and compositions about a person, event, place or concept by using different writing methods, establish cause-effect relationships, to explain their ideas in detail using examples and explanations.
- PLS-101 (LISTENING & SPEAKING)
This course aims to develop students' listening and speaking skills. Within the scope of this course, it is aimed to develop the skills of students to use different listening and note-taking strategies, to respond by understanding the contexts they listen to, and to share their thoughts accurately and fluently on topics related to daily topics and interests, as well as forming the vocabulary necessary for them to understand what they listen to.
