Professional Development Coordinatorship
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORSHIP
The Coordinatorship of Professional Development is responsible for developing the knowledge, skills and experience of the academic staff of the SFL within the scope of lifelong learning. The main duties of the Coordinatorship include:
- Providing pre-service trainings and orientation programs for academic staff. With this purpose in mind, organizing a contact meeting and peer observation program for the new academic staff
- Making necessary organization and arrangements, assigning experienced SFL instructors as mentors to new academic staff members in order to provide them with insight into issues such as conducting classes and using course materials
- Specifying the subjects that the instructors need to develop in their professional field and organizing necessary training activities
- Contributing to the professional development of the SFL academic staff by constantly informing the instructors about the current approaches related to Foreign Language Education
