The Coordinatorship of Assessment and Evaluation is responsible for the planning, writing, conducting, auditing and archiving of all the joint exams held during the academic year within the scope of the English Preparatory Programme and for the controlling and archiving of examinations conducted by the Modern Languages Unit. These are the main duties of the coordinatorship:
- Deciding on the dates of the English Preparatory Programme exams,
- Announcing the English Preparatory Programme exams to the students and academic staff,
- Preparing the questions for the English Preparatory Programme exam,
- Developing and adapting the content of the English Preparatory Programme exam in the compliance to the curriculum
- Organizing the reproduction of the English Preparatory Programme exam papers,
- Determining the classrooms for exams conducted by the English Preparatory Programme and the Modern Languages Unit and preparing the signature lists for the English Preparatory Programme exams,
- Preparing exam envelopes for the English Preparatory Programme exam halls and their safe storage,
- Preparing and reproducing audio files related to listening questions of the English Preparatory Programme exam in accordance to the number of classrooms,
- Planning the evaluation of the English Preparatory Programme exam,
- Planning and organizing the assignments concerning the evaluation of the English Preparatory Programme exam,
- Organizing the academic staff contact meeting before the English Preparatory Programme exam,
- Making a standardization meeting with the academic staff before the evaluation of the English Preparatory Programme exam,
- Organizing exam feedback sessions for the English Preparatory Programme students,
- Informing the academic staff on exam templates of the exams conducted by the English Preparatory Programme and the Modern Languages Unit,
- Archiving the exams conducted by the English Preparatory Programme and the Modern Languages Unit.
The examinations conducted within the School of Foreign Languages are as follows:
- English Proficiency Exam,
- English Placement Test,
- Progress Evaluation Exam (PEE/GDE),
- English Preparatory Programme mid-term exams (in cooperation with course instructors),
- Mid-term and final exams of the courses conducted by the Modern Languages Unit (in cooperation with course instructors),

By working in coordination with the Coordinatorship of Curriculum Development and Material Preparation and academic staff of the SFL, the Coordinatorship of Assessment and Evaluation is responsible for preparing objective, reliable and valid exams as well as for safe storage and archiving of completed exams.
