RUSSIAN COURSE
Russian is taught as an elective course to students in all departments starting from the 3rd grade. In this way, it is aimed that students not only become proficient in English and German, but also use a third foreign language effectively.
- The learning and teaching techniques of the course are done in the form of lecture, discussion, question and answer, team/group work, role playing/drama, performance, brainstorming.
- The aim of the course is to enable students to strengthen their knowledge of French by using four skills. In this way, students’ understanding of what they read and hear in accordance with their level as well as their ability to express themselves verbally and in written form are strengthened.
- The learning outcomes of the course is to develop in accordance with the Russian level criteria. These criteria are given below.
BASIC USER
RUS 301 (A1) : Breakthrough Level
Beginner students learn structures and vocabulary that they can start using in social life in a short time. Can make acquaintance, talk about his/her profession, job, hobbies and interests, can respond to wishes, ask details such as address or phone number, open dialogue related to shopping and discussing prices, order food and beverage, write e-mails or official letters at work.
RUS 302 (A2): Waystage Level
Can meet his/her communication needs, albeit limited, in daily, social and cultural areas. Can do shopping alone, use public transport and have short conversations with people around. Can read short texts on different topics, write short letters and congratulatory messages, understand daily conversations. Can use appropriate grammar rules to speak about him/herself, friends and family, education or occupation, city and environment. Can use at least 1.300 words.
INDEPENDENT USER
RUS 401-402 (B1): Threshold Level
Can use the language at an intermediate level. Thus, can establish the communication needed in daily social and cultural areas. Can participate in daily conversations; can initiate and continue the dialogue; can chat, read and write comments on different topics such as job, profession, interests, country, city and culture. Can use at least 2.300 words.
B2: Vantage Level
Can meet his/her communication needs in daily environments; can work in certain academic branches, engineering and technical fields.
PROFICIENT USER
C1: Effective Operational Proficiency
Can use the language at an advanced level. Can meet your communication needs in daily environments as well as carry out studies in the field of philology in Russian. Can use at least 12.000 words.
C2: Mastery Level
Can use Russian language as effectively as native Russian speakers. Can use at least 20.000 words.
